Policy on Non-Disclosure Ownership Requests

Douglas County will redact a property owner’s name provided the property owner submits a written request along with documentation to verify they are an exempt employee as defined by O.C.G.A. 5-18-72(a) (13) and (13.1).

O.C.G.A. 5-18-72(a) (13) and (13.1) identifies exempt employees as public employees; teachers and employees of a public school; Department of Revenue employees; law enforcement officers; firefighters; judges; emergency medical technicians and paramedics; scientists employed by the Division of Forensic Sciences of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation; correctional employees; prosecutors or identification of immediate family members or dependents thereof.

Documentation shall be provided to the Appraisal Department as follows:

1. Name
2. Address
3. Copy of employee identification badge
4. Written statement on organization letterhead identifying employee and signed by management personnel
